advantages and disadvantages of HD SDI and HD CVI
In today's era of digital electronic products, analog products  are gradually replaced by digital products . , however analog video device supplier will not want it disappeared in the market, they want to keep holding the market so Dahua promote a new kind of video signal: HD CVI,  it is regarded as AHD signal, with 1080P@30Hz max resolution. Since now digital HD SDI signal is also used in many CCTV surveillance projects, Now we compare this two kinds of signals. Of couse they all transmit the signal over coax cable, here we mainly introduce the differences.
1.  HD CVI could transmit control signal over one coax cable,but HD SDI could not which must add extern control signal like RS485.  it will also could do in the future.
2. HD CVI could transmit signal to 500meter , but HD SDI could over transmit about 150meter without any HD SDI fiber extender or other extenders.
3. In current market, SDI product is gradually mature in the whole line , like SDI camera, SDI fiber extender, SDI encoder, SDI decoder, SDI DVR , but HD CVI is very less, until now it is only HD CVI camera, DVR.
4. HD CVI is AHD signal, the picture quality could not compared with HD SDI digital video which means HD SDI singal will be more clear than CVI
According to the whole market,  HD CVI  have very less advantages compared with HD SDI, in addition, HD TVI is coming,  no matter where they are going,  they are trying to hold more market in analog CCTV surveillance.
